Ensuring you receive value for money

It is Bluewave's responsibility to ensure that you receive value for money. The charges applied by Bluewave reflect the following essential components:

  • Outstanding customer service - Understanding of your school and its culture
  • Access to a diverse number of quality teacher applications
  • Completion of all credentialing and collation of the legally required documents including CRB, List 99, Referencing, Identification etc
  • Completion of Work Permits on your behalf
  • Operate with honest and integrity and transparency of charges
  • Assisting and supporting the teacher with all aspects of relocation
  • Offer new & interactive ways for schools to search suitable applicants via the internet
  • Be an existing member of the Recruitment & Employment confederation that adheres to a code of practice within the education sector.

Minimising the risk

Recruitment of new employees into your school is never a sure thing but Bluewave have established number suggestions that may help you to minimise the risk of employing overseas trained teachers directly from their home country. Here are just some of the strategies we employ to ensure successful recruitment and retention:

  • Interviews - We encourage our recruiting schools to utilise cost effective strategies to carry out an interview. Through the use of technology schools are able to view teachers body language and helps to bringing the interviewer closer to the teacher.
    • Web Cams - Bluewave will purchase your school a webcam with a microphone so that they can talk directly to the teacher
    • Voice-Over-Internet-Provider (VOIP) - All is required is a webcam and microphone and we can make arrangements for the teachers to dial into the school to carry out the interview
  • Motivations for Relocating - as mentioned above, there are several reasons why teachers chose to relocate to the UK but Bluewave makes sure that their motivations are genuine before they are marketed to schools.
  • Pre-recorded interviews - These are accessed via our website and can help to eliminate any concerns a headteacher may have as it briefly outlines the skills and experience the teacher will bring to your school and will also clarify in their own words their motivations for seeking a position in the UK.
  • Job offers - Bluewave recommends that all job offers are put into writing and asked to be signed and returned to the school (or Bluewave). The physical process of signing this document makes it clear in the teachers mind (and yours) that they will meet their commitments

We also recommend that schools assign an Adviser who is engaged to be a guide and friend to the teachers when they first arrive. In schools where this has taken place, the international teachers settle in quicker and feel supported more as they have a familiar face in the staffroom, their questions and concerns quickly answered and this can also help to create a social circle for outside school hours.
