Sorry about all the gramatical errors and forgetting to erase the original question.

I also forgot to mention that there are no textbooks issues at my school. While I had a smartboard last year, this year I don't. I do have a projector and so can do some cool powerpoints.

Really, good luck to you. This isn't an easy transition, but I've decided to stay. So while what I am saying may seem a bit scary, I find the job over here very rewarding at an emotional and professional level...it will be even more so when I have my pay raise and can really afford to travel with abandon. There are some great perks to consider...

Than you so so much! I am an incredibly detail oriented person and the vague terrifies me. (May be the former quality assurance coordinator in me.)

I have been teaching now for only 4 years as this is my second career. Prior to teaching I was a senior microbial analyst, and despite the considerable pay cut...I could never do anything else again.

I admit, the planning and teaching is the easy part of my job. I have an incredibly supportive staff. As soon as I create a new lesson, I share it with the rest of the teachers in my subjects area, and likewise. The area that keeps me bogged down is the paperwork and parent contact.

I am hoping to arrive by the end of June so that I may be able to observe the school culture and not be a deer in headlights on the first day of the term in September. Again, thank you so much, and I may continue to pick your brain if you don't mind.

Hi Myra.
I am also a NEW recruit to the Bluewave corporation, although I am not as far along as you in the process. I have to finish my primary paperwork first, hopefully by Monday, April 21.

I am looking forward to the possibility of working in the UK, although I hope the pay is reasonable, otherwise it will not be worth my while to go, especially since I am a current home owner here in the states (New England) and the housing market as is, is LOUSY. So selling my house now is not a good idea.

Good luck with your endeavor in the UK. Perhaps we will meet while there (assuming I am also hired).

Should I be hired, I would like to arrrive early too, but that is not realistic for me -- more like the beginning to mid-August 2008 for me.

I have committed to a year.
