Hi! New to this forum. Loving the blogs. Here's mine: kensington09.livejournal.com

English teacher, if you are still reading this, after all the hype, I'd love to be invited to your blog as well...

Thanks. :)

It's opened up to anyone (once again)!

And I have a NEW ONE!

During the bad weeks/months (I know a few other bloggers who are already having to do this! A week in!), it got closed a few times whilst I ranted and I of course didn't want to insult specific people at my school publicly -- some of them knew about the blog -- so I'd close it until I 'got over it' and deleted my rants. (Tip: Never tell them about your blog. If your name and face are in the national newspaper (Guardian), showing your blog, as mine was, pretend you have a double. Deny it's you. Swear someone used your picture. Anything. Better yet, don't tell them about your blog because you WILL want to rant about your school.)

Anyway, mine's open now as I've moved on to another position, so I sort of made my last post and started a new one for the new school. (New job is fantastic! And I'll be HOD by the end of the year -- mixed feelings there, but mostly looking forward to it.)

I always have trouble doing the link here, but I'll try: boundforengland.blogspot.com

New blog for new school is pgtna.blogspot.com

Oh English Teacher...

It's true about having to close or privatise your blog. I have already done this for mine. This of course means there's little chance of getting into the Guardian via blogging, but we can't all be English Teacher. And really, I'd rather have a safe place to whinge and moan constantly until I get this country's education system all figured out!

My blog (www.the-little-darlings.blogspot.com) is currently set to invitation only, but if you WANT to read it, please send me an email at

mimi.oshea AT gmail.com

and I'll add you straightaway. As soon as I get internet set up at home, that is.

A.,

You don't want to be me!

And hang in there -- it really will get better, but sometimes it's so slow it's hard to see. But in a month, look back and count all the things you can now do, things you know now, have learnt, and realise it will continue. (At least we all know now why there's a teacher shortage in this country.)

Back to work -- lunch is almost over. (Oh, I love living a 5-minute walk away, and having a full hour.) See you soon, neighbour,

P.
