I've heard that aussies are getting good teaching jobs in the UK - i'm thinking of coming over in august to teach science. This sounds weird, but is there an issue with the accent!? Mine's pretty strong. Any views or stories out there?

I'm from US teaching here in the UK and I've never had an issue with my accent. It can be a positive because you are a novelty. OK, some kids take the piss a bit at first but it doesn't last for long!

I live with an Aussie and understand her 95.3% of the time. However, I also live with a Kiwi and need English subtitles.
