Hello,

£25, 000 equates to just over $47, 000. Check out this website to convert currencies:

Airfair is not usually paid for in the UK. I have only heard of International Schools offering this.

The retirement age is 65, I think and there is a teacher's pension scheme that you can pay into if you want.

You can stay over here as long as you have a school willing to employ you and help you out with your work permit. My initial work permit with Bluewave runs for 4 years. After that my school will help me to complete a further leave to remain application.

I hope this helps.

I have a blog about my experience form the interview to the present time . . . and everything in-between! THere are lots of links, too, such as an exchange rate calculator, a site that calculates your take-home pay, and so on. Check it out.
