Not trying to sound like 'go find it yourself' but I have most of these questions answered in my blog . . . so if you're interested, go have a read?
What country are you coming from? Also, have you read about the reciprocity between U.S. social security system and the British system? Your 'points' from the US (if you ARE American) will transfer. So while the US system goes broke, we can transfer our points here and get a pension. And yes, there is also a teachers pension you can participate in.
Also, check out the links in the right-hand column of my blog (including 'who pays for NHS' which you asked about recently).
I did the blog as a way to hopefully answer lots of questions as I was learning about the various topics, and hope it's helpful to you.
You can also ask me how to make large cash donations to my blog (okay, I'm kidding on that one!).
Best,
E.T. |

| He E. T Thanks for all the useful information. I am finding that I am becoming more commited to teaching in the UK. I was hoping you could email me I had some other questions. Just as things come up. right now my mind is swiming with things I need to get done. Here is my email hsteacher44******aol.com |

| Just emailed you . . . |
|
| Making a stab here . . . is it hsteacher44 at aol dot com? No asterisks? When I want to post without the worry of spam harvesters I write it the way I just did . . . tell me if that's correct and I'll do that email again. |
