I'm still here as well. I've been offered and have accepted a permanent position. It's a lot of hard work, but the rewards when you start to reach them are definately worth it. Words to those coming: Definately bring your favorate resource books, favorate lab exercises, computer programs, ...etc. Its worth the extra cost to have something familiar to lean on during the rough patches.

Just a quick note - Things are going okay. We've gone full-steam-ahead with preparing Yr 11 for the GCSEs in May, which means 10 weeks of revision (yikes!). Years 7-9 are fine, with the SATs coming up for Yr 9. Again, loads of time spent revising for that exam, too.

I'm finding myself wondering if I'm teaching for learning, or teaching for passing an exam...it's like NCLB with a different face....

Here's to two weeks off for Easter!

LOL Thom. Your right of course...mock exams, second mock exam, practice modules,...YIKES! But not exactly like NCLB. At least not all kids are expected to perform the same. At least this system recognizes and makes allowances for different interests and abilities. A small difference, but...I'm really trying to find the cherries and not the pits.

Keep plugging!
