Hi there.
Unfortunately, no one is going to be able to answer that question for you. Start reading the old posts on this forum to get an idea about what its like. It's not an easy job, but it can be very rewarding and you will most likely make some great friends while you're at it.
My school is very cosmetolitan in terms of teachers. There are a number from places such as Greece, Spain, Poland, and South Africa (etc). I am the only teacher from the US. but there were also three teachers from Canada here at the start of the year...only one of the Canadian teachers is still here and he has let it be known that he is going back at the end of the current school year. The reason being that teaching here is A LOT more difficult than teaching in the US/Canadian region (more preps, more responsibilities, more paperwork, more students (on average), and MUCH less planning time.
Good luck making your decision. |

Hi there,
I am in a similar boat although no child. I am selling my house, car and furniture and moving to england to teach. It is scary! While I spent a year in korea this time it is different because I have no long term plans on coming back to my home country of Canada. Just got tired of the same old same old. I want something new. I am turning 30 on July 1st and my goal is to be in england on that day.
Any other Canadian teachers out there?? |

| It sounds like the perfect thing to do after a divorce. A clean slate. Good luck to you. I'm curious though, are there any divorce laws to keep you from taking your child out of the country? |

I was never married...but as my sister is currently going through a messy divorce I can contribute this: My family lives in Ohio along the river (within eye sight of Kentucky). My sister's evil ex's family lives in Kentucky. My sister moved with him to Kentucky to raise their children. Now they are going through a messy divorce and HIS lawyer has made it so my sister can't take the children out of the state of Kentucky even for a brief one day visit at their grandparent's house.
I think this question is going to have to involve SERIOUS questions to your lawyer and lots of luck. Even so I think this would be a great experience for a child to have...widen their horizons while they are still quite young.
Good luck.
