THere is a post on my blog with all expenses listed, one by one, missing nothing. Check it out and see if YOU think you can survive on that amount.

I would not try to answer that, because I know people of all sorts who would answer both ways. THere are the types (I have read the posts) who say that they could not possibly survive on less than £50,000. THen there are the ones who live on far less, and save money. The point is that there are people who know how to be thrifty, and the ones who think you have to spend £300 a week to feed a family of 4!

It also depends on whether these kids are going to be in nursery, or if there's a spouse who will be at home caring for them. (Of course, I suppose if you have to pay for nursery, that means the spouse is working, so hence another income anyway . . . ?)

ANyway, I make £29,000 as a single person, but living in a 2 BR flat, etc, etc (won't go into all the expenses since they're on the blog), and I manage to save money. But it's a personal thing -- there are people with outrageous budgets for clothing, entertainment, etc -- no idea how to economize.

SO, read the blog: boundforengland.blogspot.com
and click on September, then scroll halfway down for the post on the cost of EVERYTHING . . .
