WOW! another buckeye English Ed!!! Where are you from again jmmcmanu?? forgive me if you have already told us... is there anywhere in particular that you are wanting to teach? and, you're not another jess are you? would make three from the buckeye state!
i've been in contact with the other agency i am with about some schools... it's such a crazy game... they get me all excited about a couple of prospects and then nothing... same thing is happening with many of my pre-teacher friends here in ohio too... so, that's somewhat of a comfort...
this is to you other bucks, do you find that ohio is just sooooo oversaturated with teachers??? doesn't help that there are over 50 schools pumping people like us out every year... i would never have any desire to teach in the dayton area, and it's probably a good thing, because i would probably never find a job.. or at least one where i would want to make my career at...
and yeah, i don't want to be another teaching statistic... i hope we're all resilient enough to not be! |

i swear, this is such a great example of my life... i just get done complaining about job prospects and within 2 hours i have 2 phone interviews for monday with 2 different schools...
happy weekend! |

Congrats! Are the phone interviews in the US or UK? Good luck!
Still waiting to hear anything here, I still love looking at all the options though and getting perspectives through all the blogs. |

I'm from the Cleveland area. I live right on the the lake - and actually am about to go off to our musical practice right ON the lake (which means it will be nice and cool in our barn-theatre).
Congrats on the interviews! The time is upon us!!
English teacher - "The Secret" is a book by Rhonda Byrne about the Law of Attraction (it was a film too!). That was the secret I was talking about - sorry, my editing skills are horrid at school. It's a really cool book - a different way of looking at life and thinking. That's what got me out of my teacher slump - - a bunch of my colleagues are reading it too -- such a fabulous difference! |
