I am a Jennifer from the Buckeye state.
Still standing strongly positive! I did my student teaching in Ireland and loved it! A friend was in the Manchester area and said that was lovely. I have no specific place in mind yet.
I'm planning on hopping on a flight in Early-Mid August. Flights are super right now! Only about $500!
Whereabouts in Ohio is everyone else from? I'm a Kent State grad!

Nice to meet you!! I am from a really rural area in midwestern Ohio... Bellefontaine area, so we have a ski mountain... that's about it... Currently, I'm in Dayton, finishing my masters at Wright State (wrong university) and doing the student teaching thing...
and where are you finding these cheap flights? or are you just looking for one ways?? |

I'm one of the Jess's as you can see. I graduated in May 2006 from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in integrated language arts education. I'm currently a substitute teacher, and I actually always end up in the elementary school in the district I sub in so its a bit different than what I was used to.
I've seen flights as low as 330 one way one cheaptickets.com so I'm really hoping to hear something soon before all the cheapy ones are gone. |

"I was planning on moving over in August, with or without a permanent teaching contract, but if I end up with one of the summer jobs, I would go over at the end of June... "
FOr the benefit of others who may want to just move butdon't have a permanent job, what type of visa will you be getting? Will an employer giving you a part-time position give you a work permit? |

Youngstown! We were like neighbors!
I was looking on Cheap Flights and found the deals with Virgin Air.
I am fortunate with the Work Permit - I have dual citizenship with US and Italy. A lucky bargain that was...
If anyone is looking for a good read to promote optimism I recommend "The Secret." I'm super excited after reading it!!
English Teacher -- I am sure you have told your story many a time, but I'm interested to know how your process went. |
