Oh, that's what I thought (you were Ohio), but you threw me off when you started talking abut working holiday-maker visa -- are you a dual citizen?

Anyway, wow -- didn't know about electronic fingerprints! I just had mine done a year ago, but it was just a normal inky mess . . . and the orange gritty goop to clean up with after. If I never have to do that again, I'll be so happy!

How is everything else going? Keep up with the blog and you'll be well-informed!

I'm not a dual citizen but my reading of the rules made me think that anyone was eligible to do it for 6 months, perhaps I read wrong.

I had electronic prints done when I was cleared for student teaching, but the FBI will only take rolled prints from what I can tell and the lady who did electronic prints agreed. The electronic ones are soooooo easy, just press two thumbs down and thats all. I guess some places are doing glass prints now where you put prints on glass and then send those in, always something new on the horizon.

I will be checking the blog today, I can never get to it from school since its blocked by the bess server. I was away all weekend doing wedding things since my best friend got married. She is in fact in England as I write having a very lovely honeymoon!

No, Americans can't get the Commonwealth's Working Holiday-Maker Visa; otherwise, none of us would be sitting around waiting for 'the call' -- we'd have just gone to the UK and done other work whilst waiting for a teaching position.

U.S. citizens can do study visas, sponsored work permits for visas, Highly Skilled Migrant Program visas, ancestry and right to abode, and of course being engaged or married to a Brit. I think that's about it . . .

Sorry to burst your bubble.

hi,

i am waiting patiently too!! I have been told that jobs are advertised in England first and then if they do not get anyone then they will check with overseas teachers!! So WE ARE on a LONG WAITING LIST!! I am quite disappointed because the way i read about the agency is that there are 100s of jobs available!! and now we got to wait and wait for that FABULOUS CALL!!

The other day I applied to about ten jobs via TES (mentioning that I was registered with Bluewave) - and I heard back from almost all of them, so that's pretty good. Once the closing date clears, the schools said they would contact me to let me know if I've been short listed. It's all greek to me (which is ironic as I am teaching Julius Caesar currently) - but I'm crossing my fingers! Hopefully it's not a polite way of saying "Thanks, but you're a yank - no thanks."

Have a good day!!
