EnglishTeacher, just a quick question on what you experienced with your FBI fingerprint clearance. I recieved mine in the mail today, and it seems so "unofficial" to me. Its the fingerprints back with a stamp on the back saying No Arrest Record with the date of the check. For yours did you just copy the prints and stamp on a sheet back to back and have someone notorize it? I don't want to get a friend to notorize it only for me to have done the wrong thing, but I also don't want to send orginals away. Thanks for any help!

I didn't even notarise it . . . I just photocopied andnow that I think of it, I think I just scanned it and sent it as an attachment), telling them that I would hand-carry the original when I came, and that was all.

Definitely keep your original with you all the time -- I'd never dare post it, even registered, etc. Lost is lost -- you just have proof that you lost it when you register your envelope! (It's like being run-over in a crosswalk -- 'Right or wrong, dead is dead.' Yes, I always wait to be sure the cars will stop before I cross.)
