Where in the UK
|
|
| Yo guys, I'm currently in New Zealand and interested in coming to teach in "The Land Of The Pom". Never been to the UK before, where’s a good place to be? I've heard that London is cool with plenty of night life but is expensive. What do you guys and girls reckon? |

| London is definately lively, which rubs onto the children you will teach, making them more difficult to manage.I would suggest you check out south west England, warmer weather, calmer students, and still lively and you can always hop onto the train to london.I hope that helps. |

I think everyone views London as the only city in England and there is so much more. London is cool and the nightlife is awesome but really expensive, unfriendly (on the tube) and the kids are wild. There are loads of other great cities and offer everything London can without the cons.
Brighton is fantastic for nightlife and shopping.
I would advise you to base yourself somewhere about an hour from London. Then you can have the best of both worlds. A really easy weekend trip but with cheaper rent and hopefully a better school.

| I agree with being out of London! I'm in Manchester (2 1/2 hrs train north of London). It's got many of the things that London has to offer on the nightlife front but is muchh much cheaper to live in. We've got an international airport here so you can get about travelling in Europe with the money you save not being in the capital. People are a lot friendlier here too! |
