ANY REQUESTS FOR OUR NEW FORUM

| I'm one of the web developers at Bluewave and we are going to be upgrading the site soon. Do any of you forum users have any requests for how we cam improve this forum? Really grateful for any thoughts! Joe |

Hi Joe,
I'm not sure if I'm asking for too much here, but you know how on other forums, you have a profile, even a pic or avatar, and a little bio, maybe a link to a personal website, that sort of thing? Can that be done here? I think we could have more of a sense of community that way . . .
Also, could the General area be broken down into subcategories for various areas? Looking at the types of posts we make in this category, you could get an idea about the various areas we chat about, and sort things into such categories?
Thanks for listening,
E.T. |

| Many thanks. I think both your suggestions are great. The categorization is something that we've been talking about here. I strikes us that much of the useage is as a "message board" for info as much as it is a forum - it would help people find the info more easily. We are also thinking of having a "search for info" feature that can bring up relevant threads quickly. Like your idea of the bio/pic too (that might be phase II but we will see what can be done now) Thanks again, and thanks for all your hard work in answering peoples querries - you're a saint! |

Hi Joe,
A way to privately exchange emails would be nice. I notice that some people don't mind sharing their personal address publically, but some of the other of want to be a little more private with things like that. Is that possible?

Hi there!
I was just thinking about lesson ideas -- a particular place for posting info on fabulous ideas! It would be a great way to share what works really well.
I always post in the "general topic" category because it seems like the best place to go. Maybe specific topics - i.e. Lesson Plans that Worked, Teaching Ideas, Places of Interest (like looking at a certain community), Newbies staying positive, Active teachers in the UK, etc.
I love it! |
