What you say is true. I guess the teaching scene at my school can be quite tough at times too and so I naturally feel I want to evolve on to a better/easier level- even though that might sound woosy. I think I know what I want in terms of a school in order to be abe to teach effectively, so if I find that, I will be glad to take the plunge. You have a good perspective though

You can be pretty selective in what school you want over here too - there is a massive range of school types here and so you can get to teach in a high performing school where standards are high and disciplin is strong (the work is quite heavy though) or you can choose a school with lower intake abilities and the rewards that come with bringing kids along and making a real impact on their lives (not that you don't in all schools).

Ok, so I'm just moving this thread forward really. I found the post from teacher_matt on 23rd Feb to be particulary helpful. I will check out the web site. I also appreciate the positive tone of this thread as I'm tired of gloom-and-doom scenarios. I'm coming. I'm excited. I want to know the facts so that I can be successful, but I think we need to balance the difficulties with the benefits.
