General Questions

| So I just graduated from College in May and I'm doing my student teaching in Ireland in the fall. I found this page as I searching for teachers. Is the process really long? What are the odds of getting a job in the UK? Is it better to apply now for next year? Sorry i have so many questions,I'm just really wondering about this program! |

| The process was not long at all for me. I had two job offers within a week - both great schools, so i had a tough decision. I think i was very lucky though as there were a few options for me. I think it depends on your subject area (I am Maths/Computer Studies) and when you apply. I think things are winding down now as the schools close in a week for summer. Get in touch with Bluewave, i have found them to be very helpful and honest (when compared to a lot of other companies)! Good luck, i hope you find something soon. |

| When does your teacher training program finish? I agree that job availability does depend on your subject speciality or if you are a generalist teacher, but there probably is a job for any well prepared teacher. Teaching in Ireland should be a bonus for you as well. |

my program ends in Nov. My subject is social science...history, psych, soc.
How much do beginning teachers make in the Uk? |

If you move your eyes a few inches to the right, you'll see something that says PAY SCALE (three times) -- it's a Top Forum Post here, so click on it and there's your magic answer.
You could be in line for January jobs -- there are often many. Where is your home (are you American)? |
