| Hi everyone (those who are already teaching in the UK) out there! I am currently seeking a teaching position in the UK. Bluewaves is very helpful and will be interviewing me on the 29th of this month. Just wanting to know, how long will it take for a school to make an offer after the interview? |
|
Hi there.
As for how long it will take for a school interview...that really just depends on what subject specializations you have and the school's needs. Really though you've missed the most active hiring period (Marchish) for this year. However, teachers leave and schools hire all year round here. You may have to wait until March or you may be looking for tickets by the end of the month. It just depends....
Here's hoping it's the best of luck for you!

Have any of you received your work permit from The Home Office recently? How long did it take?
I recently accepted a position in London. My application was submitted electronically last Monday the 20th. Any thoughts/experiences as to how long it might take for Border and Immigration to reach a decision? Waiting is SOOO hard!!!

| It took the UK commission guys about a week to send me my visa (about a few weeks ago) |

Hi guys,
There are two pieces of paper work being discussed here actually. The first (the work permit) was taken care of by Bluewave my first year and by my school and myself the second. It took about two-three weeks. However, some of that may be due to some inefficiency at my school so I'm not sure...
The second is the actual "Leave to Remain". You get this by mailing the work permit, your passport, the processing fee, and documentation showing you can support yourself here without access to public funds to either the embassy or...geepers, I've forgotten who I mailed to this year now that I'm in England. Anyway, this part takes about a week or two depending and costs about 400 pounds.
Happy red tape (Really, it's pretty easy). |
