Hiring Season?
|
|
| Hello,
I am a Physics graduate (4years of University study), coming from Greece and I would basically like to work in London.
When is the time I should apply?
What is the procedure I should follow?
The most important: How could I find sample examination material? In which aspects of Physics sectors, should I focus more in order to be well prepared?
Regards,
Theodore.

Hi Theo,
Basically, teachers are hired year round here but the largest number of hires happen in and around March. I would like to direct your attention to the green column on the left hand of your screen and the the heading "Getting you a job." That will lead you through getting registered with Bluewave.
As for what parts of Physics to focus on...hmm. Well, I teach Key Stages 3 and 4. What I've had to teach at these levels includes: electricity, electromagnetism, light and the electromagnetic spectrum, sound, speed and acceleration, levers and moments, pressure,...yeah that pretty much covers it. 6th form would most likely be more in depth, but I can't tell you how as I don't know.
I hope that helps. |

Hi again,
I have no work experiance in teaching, so the first question is: from which key stage will they start me? Will this depend on the level of knowledge I posses? |

Hi Theo,
What level of teaching (secondary school, middle school, or primary school)have you received your teaching qualifications in your country? That will determine at what level you are eligible to teach here.
For instance, I have teaching certification from the state of Ohio in the US to teach science to grades 7 through 12. That qualifies me to teach science at the secondary level (Key stages 3 and 4)here in Britain.
Does that help? You may want to look through the "Requirements for teaching here" thread. There's an easy link for it available in the grey box on the right hand side of your screen.
Best wishes,
