Hi,

I had the displeasure of experiencing time in the hospital here. It's not quite up to American standards...however, it is also not a serious financial concern like in the States either. Patients aren't consulted and included like in the States, instead doctors and nurses treat patients like children here. You even have to ask and be given permission to see your own medical records. I didn't like this at all, but plan to ever have to repeat the experience. ;-)

I have a really bad year 10 mixed ability English group and they are at their worst on a Monday Period 5 at the end of the day, we had a few minutes left so I stopped the film we were looking at to discuss it (which I couldn't do because they would not be quiet) and then about half the class just walked out about 3 minutes before the bell, and I was just like is so much shock that someone would literally do that that I did nothing (bad reaction!) and so everyone else left with more of my approval since I was about to burst into tears and I didn't want that happening in front of students.

Close second was the week before break began I just cried in general each day for unknown reasons while in the staff room. It was embarassing as you can imagine, but both of the other NQT's were in similar situations that week as well, just better at not crying in front of everyone, just each other!
