My husband and I have officially signed up with Bluewave! We are very excited and are looking forward to a great new adventure. I teach maths and sciences (biology, chemistry, and physical sciences). He teaches social studies, specifically History. We have been doing our research and reading the various blogs, but still have a few questions. I noticed the payscale is broken into different categories-- other England, fringe, inner and outer London. Which counties are considered "fringe"? Is there a place that shows these breakdowns? Also, our current school district gives us the option of having our salary split into 24 equal payments, so that we are still paid over the summer break. Do they do that in England?

It's me again! I did more searching through the old forums and found a link that explains the different areas. EnglishTeacher, you're posts and blogs are so informative. Thank you so much for all of the time you have invested! I would love to chat with you.

I'm glad you found the answers to your first few questions because I frankly don't know the answer to those.

As for your last question, getting paid through the summer is just automatically done her so no worries.

Cheers.

Hi SCHMME!

I'd be happy to chat -- just post a comment to my blog (as everyone else does) with your EMAIL address . . . No worries, I won't publish it -- my blog is set up for approval or disapproval of comments before they are published.

So, long story short, I'll get your email address from the comment, disapprove the comment, then email you, and we can chat!

Talk soon!

i'm not overtly familiar with the way that Bluewave does it, but with the teaching agency i have my job through, i am paid by the day by them, so if i do not go to school for whatever reason, i do not get paid... aka, no pay over the breaks or summer, which does suck...

so, the moral of the story, unless you are really good about saving your pennies (24 year old girl with college loans) i would stick with bluewave...
