Hey everyone, I heard about a phone interview of sorts, so what is it? From what I am gathering, Bluewave asks you a series of questions and your responses are recorded and then played for prospective employees. Am I correct? Do they tell you in advance the questions that will be asked so that you can prepare your answers? Do administrators from the actual school call you and interview you? WHat happens if you are unhappy with your responses or want a do-over? I am terrible at interviews, as I choke and blank out often under such pressure. I don't even have a clue what to expect. Thanks for any replies.

There are "two" phone interviews:

1)Bluewave calls and asks a series of basic questions and records your answers for schools to listen to if they think they might be interested in you. I don't know if you can do it again...they are the normal sorts of questions (teaching background, why you want to teach in the UK, how would you handle a certain situation in the classroom...be confident and mentally practice some before-hand).

2)If the school really, really is interested in you, Bluewave will arrange a mutually "agreeable" time when the a representative from the school can call and directly speak with you. Mine was at 4:30am... There definately is NOT a do-over for this one. Read the school's Ofstead reports before hand and mentally practice as if you were going to interview at a local school...

Hope that helps.

Do a mental practice run before hand... Have a friend pretend to be an interviewer and ask you questions. The great thing about phone interviews is 1) you can do them in your pjs if you want and 2) you can have written notes/cue cards to help you if you blank...and the interviewer will never know. ;-)

True, I could write notes, I didn't even think of that.
Are there any trial questions on here (on blogs/threads/etc.) anywhere? I am yet to come across them.
