Do we need to renew our working visa for teaching in UK in each year?

Brad, you're there only "for a few hours more?" Are you leaving then? To where are you off now? I considered Japan and even India before getting the position in the UK. How about you? Why did you choose the UK?

I am from Hong Kong, I may choose to teach in UK because Hong Kong is under UK education system, so I am familiar with those system and examination, I also went to cert level (GCE) and A-Level exam when I studied at school when I am a child.

What will happen after 4 years working visa expire, do school have the right that do not continue our working visa? Therefore, our employment cannot be continued??

Utlimately, if you are doing a good job and you have earned a British Teaching Qualification (QTS) schools are able to renew your workpermit and offer you and extension to your work permit. You are government will not renew it if you have not gotten Qualified Teacher STatus in the U.K.

Hi Meli:

I agree with you -- I have had it with the no child left behind act, too -- it has done nothing to improve the educational system in the US and has only served to widen the gap even further between those that have and those that have not. I have experienced both first hand -- teaching at an inner city high school for five plus years and now at suburban school here in CT.
