Yes, that would be the pound sign. Aren't you the one in Ireland?

Oh, that's right . . . graduated in May, going to do student teaching in the autumn in Ireland? (How did you graduate without student teaching? Isn't it part of your degree program? And where in Ireland will you be? Finally, if I can ask one more question, how did you happen to choose Ireland for student teaching?)

Back to the rent issue...had an extremely difficult time finding any place decent within my price range last year...a lot of bait and switch type stuff or oops, we printed the wrong price type stuff happened. However, this year a British friend from work has been calling the places pretending to be me and it has been a LOT easier. Looking at potentially renting a very nice spacious place in the middle of parkland for only 550 pounds this year. Long story short, if you can get help from the people where you intend to work then do it! Don't be afraid to ask for help. Also the 500 pound range is about right outside the London area...London is expensive. If you are going to work in London consider renting in areas that are close to London by train...you'll be surprised what you can get.
