No i'm not kidding you LOL. Your relatives are kinda right and wrong. If you don't speak any French, you could apply to Montreal's English school board first. Most of the English teachers, here, are expat Americans and English Canadian but they all speak at least some French. So, no you don't need to be biligual. But don't forget, there is 7 millons peeps in the province of Quebec and 80% of it are frenchies. So if you don't plan to learn the language, you'r missing the best part. ;o)

| This thread is probably getting off track now, but I am curious. All of my relatives are english speaking living in Montreal. I know the basics-I could get by and I would like to learn a new language. But I wouldn't want to be treated differently or be unemployed because I am not fluent. Maybe the Uk would be a better choice for teaching...but I do love Montreal and all the history of Quebec, the Jazz Fest. |

Hi Piotr,
I'm afraid I'm not sure what the demand for German Philosophy is over here. It may be higher at the 6th form level than at the KS3 and KS4 levels where I teach.
However, my best recommendation to you is to go through the registration process with Bluewave and get their input on this matter. You do this by simply clicking on the red "register" link in the dark blue band at the top of this page and then filling in the worksheet that pops up. The bluewave folks usually respond fairly quickly and are very helpful.
I'm sorry I can't be more help than that.
