Colleagues,
I have been researching housing for my family in the Milton Keynes area. I will be teaching at Ousdedale School and my daughter will be possibly attending Olney Primary. Any Leads would be helpful!! Upmystreet.com lists housing a pounds per week and then the full listing then show pounds per month that is higher than the weekly multilied by four? Waht is this descrepancy. Are people / teachers paid weekly, monthly, bi-monthly?

Here's a site that may be helpful to you in finding a rental ( http://www.rightmove.co.uk/ ) . It's self-explanatory -- just type Milton Keynes, and tick rental, then on the next page you will specify flats or houses, size, etc, etc. (Lucky you -- there's an IKEA in your town!)
As far as pay dates, I can only speak for my school (in Bedford, which is not too far from you) -- I'll be paid monthly, beginning the 27th of September. Fortunately for me, another English teacher and her husband own a rental flat she has offered to me, and I'm thrilled to take it. Two bedroom, VERY close to train and bus stations, £550 a month plus utilities. It will be great to just spend a day or two in a hotel (long enough to buy a bed and have it delivered!), and then straight on to my new home.
