Hello everyone! Hope all of you are having a wonderful experience here in the UK. I just wanted to invite you to join my blog and discussion on issues I encounter during my time teaching in the UK as an overseas teacher. My hope is to get different perspectives and views from all you since we are sharing in this experience together. Here is the link if you are interested: http://http://www.ginnopaoli.c...

i'll check out the blog, but am wondering if there are any support groups for international teachers for when they first arrive. My worry is that it would be very stressful to rock up to a new place and not know anyone, and being from another country needing a certain kind of support.

I think a support group would be a great idea. Fortunately for our group that came last year, there were eleven of us that were placed in the same school (five of use living together), so it was a lot easier for use to cope with the move. I think, if at all possible, try to get placed in a school that has other international placements.
