What has your experience been with the health care in England? How easy is it to find a doctor? Are we really entitled to free health care?

Never had the need for it so don't know what it's like (apart from it's held up as a model for the rest of the world to follow). I checked it out when I was coming here - healthcare (apart from the cost of drugs etc) is free if you are working for a UK based employer

Check this link out that gives more details

Not quite sure as I'd call it free (it's a deduction of something like 8%of our gross), but after that, yes,it's free. No deductibles, no co-pay, no out-of-pocket, none of that pesky stuff Americans are used to paying.

Prescription are sometimes free, other times something like £6.

Good, really.

Hey TClayton - I recon it's a good medical service here and sure you pay a bit in your tax (the NI covers other stuff too not just healthcare eg the state pension). I had a Gall Stone removed and it was about as good an experience as it could have been which is really important when you are so far from home. Good luck with move to all
