I need answers...Help!

Hi! My name is Heather and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I am qualified to teach in the UK. I have a BA in History and was recently alternatively certified to teach secondary school in my state. I was a teacher assistant for a year and a half and am currently starting my first year as a full fledged certified teacher. I was told that since I don't have a degree in education that I must get one to teach in the UK. As a result I am currently getting my Masters in Teaching Learning and Leadership. Is this really necessary and could I begin applying for positions over in the UK for next year?? Sorry its so long but I am desperate for an answer!
Thanks-Heather |

| Hi Heat, If you have a degree, teaching experience and are licenced to teach in US you can teach in UK..BUT from the schools point of view you will find it easier to get a job if you have Masters (especially if you are not in one of the real shortage areas - Maths, English Science) Just do it! |
