Hello. I have 15 years experience teaching in a private kindergarted/childcare center in the US and have not had one job offer here. It is driving me a bit nuts, as i left the job in the us to move here and I want to stay here for my boyfriend, who is a british citizen.
any ideas of how to proceed? or any stories that may help me choose the right path?
thanks

I think (can't speak for everyone) that most of us came here after getting a job offer.

I guess all I can say is use the agencies, although at this time of year, it may be a bit difficult to get a position since school has already begun.

How long have you been here and searching? What about doing supply work until you find a position?

Good luck!

Hi,

I've actually heard that primary teaching level jobs are HARDER to find than secondary. Have you considered supply teaching? That could get you into the buildings so you can see what they are like and they could get to know you as well. Who knows, that could lead to a real job offer.

Good luck to you.

I've heard that, too, Melinda. DO you think it's because of how tough secondary is here? I mean, maybe not many people go into it, but mostly go into primary (it has to be easier, right? LOL!).
