Lisa's information
Lisa is a qualified teacher with 1 years’ experience. She is currently supply teaching in a large, urban high school in Michigan, USA. In this role, Lisa has experienced teaching English across the 11-18 age range to a diverse student body. She has developed her own creative teaching style that engages her students and ensures that they learn and keep on task.
In the summer of 2006, Lisa took the role as councillor at a private residential camp. Lisa was directly in charge of 17 students. In addition to her daily duties, Lisa served as a lifeguard and swimming instructor.
Lisa is looking forward to launching her career in the UK and we feel that her enthusiasm and passion for literature will make her a strong addition to any English department.
In her own words:
“I am very confident that I am able to reach every student. I refuse to give up on a student; instead I try to find a new way to teach to ignite their interest. I am also extremely empathetic, and I think this gives me an advantage over most people because I really try to put myself in the shoes of a student if they are having difficulties. Though I am a new teacher, I am a quick learner and I never give off the impression that I am new. I really enjoy teaching and I convey that during my classes. I am able to get students interested in what we are doing because I honestly enjoy it.”
