Angela's information

My formal foundation in teaching began at East Stroudsburg University, where I was given the opportunity to work with a diverse array of children at a variety of grade levels. Through field experiences, I further developed existing competencies in group leadership. This included motivation resulting from a keen understanding of individual interests and barriers in respect to learning. It is my goal to provide an equal learning opportunity to each student, and to build a foundation of trust through open lines of communication. It is my job as an educator to maximize each child’s potential by recognizing the needs of each individual and diversifying instruction accordingly. I intend on applying my foundation upon my December 2007 teaching certification in the field of Health and Physical Education.
Teaching internationally provides the opportunity to experience a country’s culture in a way that a tourist would never be able to. The chance to teach abroad would allow me to develop a true understanding of another culture and their views. Through being exposed to a completely new lifestyle, I will be able to have a greater appreciation for how other people live and interact on a daily basis. I will not be the only one gaining from this opportunity, the students will also. My students will be able to encounter the American culture without even travelling. Through our daily interaction, together we will live and learn from each other by exchanging knowledge about each of our cultures. This unique teaching environment will allow me to impact the lives of others who are currently half a world a way from me. Teaching abroad will forever change my teaching career and life and hopefully make my students become more aware of the world around them.
