Robert's information
I have been teaching English, Psychology and Philosophy, but primarily English, in Austria over the last eight years in a secondary school in Vienna. The age of my students in Vienna ranges from 10 to 19 years and teaching ten-year olds one period and 19-year olds the next is a very welcome variation but a challenge at the same time! I believe this constant demand of flexibility has equipped me with a fair amount of social skills in the classroom which I consider paramount in any teaching situation, but even more so in a new setting - new school, new students, new subject.
I have just finished the final exam of my course for Teaching German as a Foreign Language at the Goethe Institut, Munich and I have been teaching non-Natives German over the past three years.
I have always felt that I am in the right place when teaching- teaching young people has been most rewarding. I find it easy to connect with teenagers; girls and boys alike, and my communicative way of teaching enables that. Over the last eight years of teaching in a secondary school I have come to deal with all kinds of situations and students and I believe this range of experience has equipped me with leadership skills for teaching in a new setting abroad as well. I have also earnt my QTS.
