Eric's information

I have worked at Kapolei High School in Hawaii for the past four years which has helped me gain valuable experience. Hawaii offers a variety of unique cultures and ethnicity\'s which have prepared me for any experience. Kapolei High School has a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds as well. During my four years at Kapolei I have worked with students with students that are have a variety of different learning abilities. My classrooms have had a mix of special education, English as a second language and also gifted students. Preparing a lesson for all of these students has been challenging but also rewarding for myself and the students when done right. My past work experience with mental health treatment programs and crisis intervention have provided me with a great foundation for dealing with any situation teaching can provide. I am a dedicated teacher who is passionate about working with children and creating unique lessons that are based on student’s interests all while relating the content to the state standards. It has been my goal in life to show children that they can achieve anything they want to in life. I believe that has allowed me to have a rapport with students unlike any other teacher I have ever worked with. My ability to truly care for each and every student has been my biggest asset. I realized when working with children that have behavioral and emotional issues and to be able to watch them learn and grow that this was the career for me.

I have spent my time traveling around the United States working with young people. Each place I have gone not only have I been able to teach the children but the children have been able to teach me. The information I have learned in my traveling has been invaluable and can always be applied to the classroom. I would love to expand my knowledge based and with all the history in Europe it would be an amazing experience.
