Judy's information
I have worked for the last 14 years in Special Needs with many different children. These children have included many with very difficult behavioural and learning needs.
Accordingly I have had to learn and develop a wide range of strategies to use, to successfully help the children and their families. I believe these skills that I have developed would be relevant to this vacancy. Previous to my Special Needs experience I was a Classroom Teacher, and in my current position work closely with Mainstream Teachers and other Professionals. I feel I have the ability therefore to empathize with all groups involved: students, family, Health and Educational Professionals, and classroom teachers.
I believe each child has the right to be educated in a way that develops his or her full potential. My passion is to recognize and support the uniqueness of each student and advocate for him or her. This can be achieved by a positive, supportive environment with clear boundaries.
I have also participated in relevant professional development over the years and would look forward to further training.
My personal strengths include the ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents and staff. I am an extremely conscientious person who gives my best in everything I do.
